Meet the Founder

Hi, I’m Sam — founder of Math Room.

I’m a qualified maths teacher and current Head of GCSE Mathematics. I originally founded Math Room with a simple idea: students make the most progress when they feel confident, understood and supported at the right level.

What began as specialist maths tuition is now growing into a small team across Maths, English and Science. I carefully select tutors who share the same confidence-first approach and commitment to clear, personalised teaching.

He managed to get my daughter to engage with maths. We wanted her to gain confidence and simply pass. Sam achieved both, and she finished with a Grade 6. We would 100% recommend Math Room.

Katie C

My daughter improved from a Grade 2 to a predicted Grade 5. More importantly, Sam helped her believe in herself and develop the confidence to tackle challenging topics independently.

Libby S

Sam understood both of my boys' individual needs and supported them brilliantly. They came through their A Levels with flying colours. I can't recommend him highly enough.

Shannon S

Reliable, flexible and focused on developing genuine understanding. Sessions were structured around helping my daughter understand the principles behind the maths.
