Math Room Policies

Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Math Room collects, uses and protects personal information when families enquire about or use tuition services.

These starter policies are written in plain English for a UK maths tuition business and should be reviewed by the business owner to make sure they match current practice and legal requirements.

Information we collect

We may collect parent or guardian names, student names, contact details, year group, exam level, learning goals and information shared during enquiries, consultations or tuition sessions.

If you use the online booking or student portal tools, information may also be processed by the booking and tuition management providers used to deliver those services.

How we use information

Information is used to respond to enquiries, arrange consultations, plan tuition, manage bookings, provide lesson support and keep appropriate records of progress and communication.

We only use personal information where there is a lawful reason to do so, such as providing requested services, meeting safeguarding responsibilities or maintaining clear business records.

Sharing and retention

Math Room does not sell personal information. Information may be shared with trusted service providers where needed for booking, communication, payments, safeguarding or legal compliance.

Where tuition is delivered by a Math Room tutor, relevant student information may be shared with that tutor where reasonably necessary to plan and deliver tuition, support progress and maintain appropriate records.

Records are kept only for as long as needed for tuition, administration, safeguarding, accounting or legal purposes, then securely deleted or anonymised where appropriate.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct or delete personal information, or raise a concern about how information is used. Requests should be made directly to Math Room so they can be reviewed and handled appropriately.
