Math Room Policies
Terms of Service
Last updated: July 2026
These Terms of Service explain the working arrangements between Math Room and families using our tuition services.
Tuition services
Math Room provides tuition and related educational support in Maths, English and Science for GCSE, A-Level and international students. Lesson content is tailored to the student’s needs, goals and agreed learning plan.
Tuition is an educational support service. Although we aim to help students make meaningful progress, we cannot guarantee a particular grade, exam result or outcome.
Tutors and tutor allocation
Tuition may be delivered by different tutors working with Math Room. Tutor allocation is based on subject requirements, student needs and availability. Where appropriate, Math Room may recommend a different tutor if availability changes or if another tutor is considered a better fit.
Families should raise any concerns about tutor fit, communication or lesson delivery directly with Math Room.
Bookings and free consultations
Free consultations are offered to discuss a student’s needs and whether Math Room is a suitable fit. A consultation does not create an obligation to book tuition.
Lesson times are agreed through the booking process or directly with Math Room. Families should provide accurate contact details and let us know promptly if their availability changes.
Payments
Fees, payment timings and any payment methods will be confirmed before regular tuition begins. Families are responsible for paying agreed fees by the requested due date.
If a payment issue arises, please contact Math Room promptly so that it can be resolved fairly and without disrupting the student’s support where possible.
Cancellations and rescheduling
If a lesson needs to be cancelled or rescheduled, families should provide as much notice as possible. The applicable notice period and any charge for late cancellations should be confirmed by the business owner before tuition starts.
Online lesson expectations
Online lessons should take place in an appropriate, safe environment with a reliable internet connection where possible. Students should join on time, be ready to learn and use respectful communication throughout the session.
Student and parent responsibilities
Students are expected to engage appropriately, complete agreed practice where possible and tell us when they are finding something difficult. Parents or guardians are responsible for supporting attendance, communication and the sharing of relevant information.
Acceptable conduct
Everyone involved in tuition must be treated with respect. Abusive, discriminatory, unsafe or disruptive behaviour may result in a lesson ending or services being paused while the matter is reviewed.
TutorBird and third-party services
Math Room may use TutorBird and other trusted third-party services for booking, student portal access, communication or payments. Those services operate under their own terms and privacy policies, which families should review where relevant.
Intellectual property
Lesson resources, worksheets and materials provided by Math Room are for the student’s personal learning use unless we agree otherwise. They must not be copied, sold, shared publicly or used commercially without permission.
Liability and changes
Nothing in these terms limits liability where it cannot lawfully be limited. Otherwise, Math Room’s liability is limited to a reasonable level in relation to the tuition services provided.
Math Room may update services, availability, fees or these terms when needed. Families will be given reasonable notice of material changes that affect ongoing tuition. For questions about these terms, please contact Math Room directly.
